GVS Parent 和 Author Neha Bajaj Speaks to 学生 for Autism Acceptance Month

Bajaj began her presentation by explaining the process behind her heartwarming book as she guided students through the ins 和 outs of writing, 修改, 和说明, all of which contributed to bringing Noah's world to life. Diving into her own journey as a writer, Bajaj revealed a secret: she is an avid reader, just like many of the students before her.

The 2nd Grade Shines in Portrayal of 彩虹乌鸦

Anticipation filled the Harris 剧院 for the 2nd Grade's performance of 彩虹乌鸦—a Lenape Native American legend that tells the story of a crow with brilliantly colored feathers who 牺牲s his beauty to bring warmth 和 light back to his freezing, 黑暗的世界. 

Directed by music teacher Jess Beja 和 supported by the creative talents of art teacher Brigid Coffey 和 music director Kayla Sorenson, the stage was certainly set for a magical journey bringing nature to life.

校长博士. Jesse Dougherty set the tone with words of encouragement, praising the students' collaborative spirit 和 their dedication to portraying characters with finesse. As the young actors took their places, their faces lit up with smiles 和 their enthusiasm was palpable in the waves exchanged with the audience.

Coffey’s skillful set design transported the audience into the heart of nature, setting the perfect backdrop for this legendary tale. Accompanied by Sorenson's wonderful talent on the piano, the students—dressed as creatures from the story—sang with gusto, filling the theater with melodies that captured the essence of the story. 

From playful Mice to Sky Spirits crowned with rays of sunshine to Crows adorned with rainbow-feather boas, each child embodied their character 和 narrated their lines with pride 和 confidence. 通过乌鸦的旅程, 无私的主题, 牺牲, 和 the importance of community 和 the environment resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression on all who watched.

As the final notes of "Over the Rainbow" faded into a roaring applause, it was a clear testament to the students' hard work 和 dedication.

A Touchdown Talk: A Glimpse into the Strategy of the NFL with William 邓

GVS parent William 邓 spoke to Upper School students about his role as Head of Corporate Strategy at the National Football League (NFL), offering a captivating glimpse into the inner workings of the renowned sports organization. 

邓, father to Marshall (Pre-K) 和 Wyatt (2nd Grade), kicked off his presentation with an exclusive peek into a video produced annually by NFL Films, taking students on a journey through the exhilarating highlights of this past football season. 学生 were on the edge of their seats as play-by-play moments unfolded on screen, garnering some pronounced “oohs 和 aahs” along the way.

更深入, 邓 shared insights into the elite world of the NFL, explaining the rigorous process of actually securing a spot on an NFL roster as a player, 0完成的壮举.0.005%的有希望的人. 带着一点幽默, 他打趣地说, "如果你想加入NFL, taking my path might just be the easiest route."

But 邓's path wasn't without its own twists 和 turns, likening his journey to Sheryl Crow's "Everyday is a Winding Road." GVS Book Fair: Where Reading Becomes an Adventure

Green Vale hosted its annual Book Fair on 4月il 8-12 in the Cheryl Webb Gymnasium.

Throughout the week, students browsed the aisles, eager to find their next favorite read. The Book Fair concluded with a gr和 finale at 爷爷奶奶 & Friends Day—as the students enjoyed one last go-around to take home their literary treasures.

A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, especially co-chairs Susie Anderson 和 Maria Lustig, who worked hard to ensure that everything ran smoothly. 

The Book Fair at Green Vale was is more than just a chance to buy books—it is an opportunity to foster a love of reading 和 discover new stories. 这周末之前, students left the Book Fair with arms full of books 和 hearts full of excitement for the adventures that awaited them within the pages.

格林维尔的祖父母 & Friends Day is a cherished occasion where the school community comes together to celebrate the bond between generations 和 the enduring 朋友hips that enrich our students' lives.

星期五早上, 4月12日, 家庭, 朋友, 亲人们聚集在校园里, greeted by the welcoming smiles of students, 老师, 和工作人员. 一整天, classrooms buzzed with activity as students eagerly shared their latest projects 和 school experiences with their special guests. 

From colorful art displays to h和s-on math lessons, each classroom offered a glimpse into the vibrant learning environment that defines Green Vale. 书展更增添了人们的兴奋, offering a chance for book lovers of all ages to discover new literary gems.

当活动接近尾声时, gratitude filled the air as thanks were extended to all who had contributed to its success. From the dedicated 老师 to the hardworking staff, it was clear that teamwork had made the day memorable for all involved.
